“The project was to help at the Wemel Kamp, a camp for kids who had Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and slight autism. It was my first ever project with IVS and was so nervous before I went. I didn’t know what to expect, what the other volunteers were going to be like, how I’d cope with sleeping in the woods (I am not really a camping girl!). Well I had absolutely no need to worry at all as I loved my whole time there so much.

“The kids were absolutely amazing, my group especially. We spent the week making things with the kids, like pirate swords, jewellery, drawings and T-shirts, and playing games with them. There were five other volunteers. I made a real bond with Vera and Valeria from Italy and I’m still in touch with them now.”
