International Voluntary Service will be at YouthLink Scotland’s National Youth Work Conference on Tuesday 20th November. We will have a stand at the ‘marketplace’ in the Radisson Blu Glasgow between 9am-4pm.
This year’s theme focus’ on Young People’s Participation, so we are proud to be sharing our Young Trustee campaign at the event. Our aim is to inspire more young people to become leaders in the third sector by joining charity boards as trustees, and encourage organisations to recruit them. Being a trustee enables young people to participate in decisions that affect their lives, and for organisations it allows informed improvement to services and experiences through the influence of young people’s views. Soon, we will also be launching a new recruitment platform to match skilled young people with organisations in need of trustees.
Representatives from our organisation will also be available to provide information and answer questions on how to find and join fully-funded volunteering projects across Europe.
Come along to find out more about what we can offer you and have a chat with a member of our team!

About Young Trustee
Young Trustee aims to “ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels” (SDG 16.7) across Scotland’s third sector leadership. Our goal is to match 250 organisations with 250 new young trustees (aged 18-26) by September 2019. The project has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, supporting the Scottish Government’s Year of Young People 2018. Developed by the team at the International Voluntary Service, the campaign also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions and it’s targets.
