IVS has a new Youth Development project in England this year and we need your help to make it a success.
We are building a network of School and Community Group Speakers to deliver our "Volunteering: A British Heritage" presentation to youths across England. Visiting English secondary schools and youth community groups, IVS is committed to enhancing youths' knowledge of its long history of international volunteering.
Are you interested in a fun and rewarding opportunity to speak to youths about international volunteering? Would you like to develop your communication and presentation skills?
School speakers receive full training and choose exactly how much time to commit.
We have scheduled two schools for Wednesday 23rd May in Lewisham, London. Are you interested in and available to deliver the workshop on this day? A training event will be organised prior to this, for example Friday afternoon, would you be free to attend this too?
Contact Sam at youth@ivsgb.org or call 0131 243 2746 for more information and to express your interest.
IVS is hosting its Camp Coordinator Training in Edinburgh, Sunday 24th June 2012, 10:00 - 16:00
This training event is FREE, all you need to do is book your place.
The training is for individuals who will go on to attend IVS workcamps as our representative. As Camp Coordinator you will go on IVS workcamps, for FREE, to help lead volunteers through core activities, evening social events, any possible concerns ... mainly ensuring everyone has a good time!
Contact youth@ivsgb.org for a place.
In the coming months, the International Voluntary Service will be visiting secondary schools and community groups across the UK to deliver an exciting new workshop and exhibition about Peace, Conflict and the History of Volunteering.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to be involved...
“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” This phrase arose out of the Aboriginal activism of the 1970s, but the spirit of it was also very much the spirit of the International Voluntary Service’s Birthday recent event at Holyrood.
